A day in the life of a mediocre teenager. . It’s a challenging, it’s difficult and it just such a mixture. Trying to please everyone around you, and then trying to do what you want at the same time. It’s hard on us teens growing up, having to deal with siblings, family, school life, and just dealing with friends and attempting to balance out your social life .During the school year for me I found the most stressful trying to keep my grades up and still have a cool freshmen year. Now that I have a taste about what the “High school Life” is about I’m sure I’ll be more organized. I learned a lot this freshman year about friends; who I can and can’t trust, educationally , and just over all. I got more awareness to why everyone is the way they are in high school. Not everyone is not amicable and cordial in high school; I now have an impression on what college life is like it’s just a smidgeon of what college will be like. I can’t wait to embark college to see and experience all the great advantages and FREEDOM !I can’t wait to be on my own to make my own decisions for myself and be independent. I’m sure any mediocre teen would be un- patient to aboard college. Being a teen I can truthfully say it’s challenging but everyday I’m managing my way through it. It’s great I Love it Though , My mother tells me to “appreciate that you’re not grown yet because, before you know it you’ll be off on your own!” so I’m patient and waiting : )

Refection of my freshman year at parkway west
My freshmen year at parkway west has been quite an experience. I've learned a lot of new things and gotten to see the real high school world, of course it turned out to be nothing like TV but it was a little similar. At the beginning of the school year I would have considered my self-shy, quiet and to my self. But through out the year I could feel a change in my self, my atmosphere, and even in my grades. I was not my self lately. I started to conform but as this year abruptly comes to an end I can say I survived my freshman year and anticipate becoming a sophomore next year. This year was rough and I had many obstacles with keeping up, staying on top of my “ A” game, being alert and even at times just making an effort .For an example in the first few weeks of school I barely had anyone to talk to. I would just sit down quietly and copy notes but now since the year is ending I’ve seem to become careless and walk into the classroom and just not get right to my work. I will procrastinate, talk, and just not be attentive. But lately I have been working on that because I have some catching up to do. During this change I wouldn’t say it was good, it was bad, and I will try my best to improve my actions. During middle school I was as out and open to everything as I am now academically I was on the roll. But when I look at my self now I saw a difference. But coming to parkway I excerpted it to me perfect, I would just have fun all the time and that it would just be a breeze. But reality set in after a while and it turned out to be no joke.

Is anger a good thing ?
Can getting angry be a good thing? In the eyes of
Cecilia Munoz, getting angry is good . When she was younger she
discovered the outrage as a kind of fuel. She was 17 years old, 1980 she was at
the dinner table with her family and they were having a discussion about wars
going on in central America and how they are partnered with the united states
.But what really upset Cecilia is that she was one day having a conversation
with a friend and he looked me n the eye and said that if the united states
were to one day go into war with Latin America that , he believed my parents
belonged in an internment camp just like the Japanese-Americans during world
war two .From then on and she doubt the fact whether her and he family belonged
in this country. From that day on she became active and very furious and headed
straight to the civil rights movement. And she’s been working there ever since
she was serious and ready to prove a point.she then moved to Washington to work
as an advocate .some stranger wrote an letter to her mother of how good and
intelligent it is when it comes to her job. Her mother was so proud of her and
was wondering why her daughter was describe so intense and going hard at her
work. But she then found out that anger had a way in Celilia. She was very
helpful to different families, she was generous and always nice .

Broadcasting a world of whitness
This article was about a television show called “Girls” that
shows Sunday nights that shows on HBO. Its about a girl and her non-boyfriend
Adam that have sex and she later becomes pregnant .Her name is Jessa, she’s nervously
deciding about an abortion but she comes to the decision that she wants to have
children by many men of different races. The show failed and was harshly criticized
after its debut this month .This show is full of all central figures- four
young women wandering New York for love that are white. In the opinion of Jon
Caramanica so far the non white characters are “on the margin at best, With
just a handful of lines among them. This article mainly discusses the topic of
how tv shows now a day are not diverse enough. The level of diversity determines
if it stands or falls, and “Girls” is hardly in the whiteness”. HBO is a movie channel
that was made to entertain. But movie critics don’t think that girls, the show
is doing a very good job at it. JON the author say that many other shows that are
not all whit dominant are not criticized such as the “East bound” or “How I met
your mother”. Other shows that are aired on HBO are “How to make it to America”
and “The wire but these were also cancel
after a couple years of being aired on HBO.but this show is to just show how we
can improve and just to get the opinion, information and back round thoughts of

New Fashion Wrinkle
Woolrich , a 182-year-old clothing company, this company as you see has been around for many years and is very popular for their fashion statement and way of attire .This clothing company now has so new adjustments . they have clothing that you are able to hide weapons in such as guns, and knifes. This company has made a lot of money off of these clothing’s to customers. I believe that this line of clothes is extremely unessacary . I believe it supports all the wrong reasons I mean really who wants special clothing to hide their weapons. To be realistic I believe that this type of paraphernalia should only be sold to be in the army or police men, because they need it. To me it supports all the wrong reasons, it probably make people eager to purchase un needed weapons.”The chinos, that cost 65.00$, are not for commandos, but rather, the company says, for the fashion-aware gun owner. And Woolrich has competition” So this mean that wool rich isn’t the only company. And some frugal people might think that these items are quite expensive .But that does matter if it well quality. Many people who are actually in the army , appreciate these clothing items. Shawn Thomson 35 yrs, who works at an auto dealership in eastern Kentucky brought two shirts recently , and he wrote on his blog that “Most of the clothes I used in the past to hide my side arm looked pretty sloppy and had my girlfriend complaining about my looks” So that’s one complaint.

Health Fair
All 12th grade students have to create a senior project in order to graduate. Students did projects on real life situations that occur now. Such as drugs, abortions, overbearing parents, Stud’s, healthy eating and so much more. Last Friday the seniors had a health fair where all of the younger students grades 9th, 10th and 11th all went downstairs to the auditorium. While we were in the auditorium we got a chance to view several tables that gave out about the topics I mentioned earlier. Some students were shy about asking information and some weren’t .It was a fun experience for us I enjoyed it a lot. We got to ask questions, explore, and learn new things I found it very useful and exhilarating because teens today are ignorant to what’s going on in the real World. It was different tables and we all lined up to go inside and visit each table. There were oranges they gave out at the vegetable table. At the std table the gave out condoms although, some students were shy to apply their self, ask questions and even take one they participate .It turned out well over all. It was really nice. There was one table I found intriguing it was about how fathers and mothers need to step up and handle their business with their kids. It was by Akiel I believe it was nice I also liked the table on the fruits and vegtables that we have every Wednesday. It tells us how important it is to eat healthy.

Sonia Sotomayor
The recent article i read just hapen to be in my Empower 3000 assignments. It was about a recent lawyer Sonia Sotomayor is a Supreme Court Justice. She spoke to kids about what it is like to have type 1diabetes. I found this article very interesting. When Sonia was younger her and her family member discovered that she had type 1diabetes. She said it was rough growing up but it got easier as she got older . she grew up in new York city the south of the Bronx .When she found out about this the doctors said it okay and that its just an abnormal amount of sugar in her blood . diabetics have to check their blood everyday but when she was younger they had to sterilize their needles every morning because they didn't have the machines that self took the blood."In 2011, Sotomayor appeared at a meeting put on by a group working to find a cure for diabetes. Sotomayor spoke to a group of 150 children. They also had type 1 diabetes. The children sat around her while she told them about her experiences." she witnessed to theses kids to let them know that she was in there place before, and that everything is going to be alright. She tells them to keep dreaming and she let them know that everything will be the same and that nothing will change. and that they will have the same options as others. I hop the best for theses kids because i know i would want all the support and help if i were on their sidehttp://portal.achieve3000.com/article/?g=11293&c=1&sc=28&ssc=0&a=151633&asn=1

Women Under 30, Most Births Occur Outside Marrige
This article was written by Jason dePARLE and Sabrina Tavernise is Ohio .This article was very truthful and intriguing . It spoke of its normal now a day for children to be born to an unmarried couple. Its states in the article that " More than half of births to American women under 30 occurs outside marrige" when i read this fact i was complete shock but then i thought that its very true . Because today you see young mothers doing there own thing out here with no help or support from a husband, baby father, or even boyfriend .this article also states that motherhood without marriage has settled deeply into middle America. When i see stuff like that i feel sympathy for the mothers because i know its hard times out here. But the again i feel ashamed , like us ladies should be out here living it up to the fullest. Not worry about men ."The fastest growth in the last two decades has occurred among white women in their 20's who have some college education but no four year degree, according to child Trends, a Washington research group that analyzed government data ." When reading this i began to wonder if this is the rate of white women in there 20's then whats the rate of African Americans in there 20's. I think that when my mom and dad got married and had me and my two other sisters it does effect us in a positive way . Its two individuals who support us together . But i mean other may not think that having a mother and father in their life effect them. It may even just depend on the Independence of the mother or father . I mean you could learn the same amount of having a mother and father as if you you did a mother. but as Frank Furstenberg said "Marriage has become Luxury " The shift effects childrens lives .

Upper Darby Kidnapper
Drexel hill a sense part of Upper Darby town ship. That every nice friendly people live.” It’s also the kind of neighborhood where news about a man exposing himself or approaching and questioning children, as was reported nearby last week, makes residents like Brian Amato want to take action." said http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/local&id=8576979.This story I found very intriguing because I like finding out about new dangerous stories. These kids in Drexel hill like to spend days outside playing ball, and chilling on the block but one day a man rolled up in a blue, or green mini van and tried to talk a kid into getting into the car but the child said no, and ran. This man appeared to late 40's early 50's he was colcagen a little obese light brown hair. He had a slim head and a very masuculine deep voice . The block has come together, and found a way to make the neighborhood a safe place. They’ve made plans and coordinated things. They are keeping a watch out, and being cautious.

Global warming
learned that temperature gases are when the temperature rises because the suns warmth and light is confined in the globe’s atmosphere. Global warming is affecting multiple parts of the world, it makes scorching summers and warmer winters. The main causes of it are Human sewage, Industrial factories, and pollution.
Global warming can easily be averted with the help of everyone because it’s caused by mankind. It’s just that many of us do not know what destruction it will cause to the next generation and even affect us in the future. “Many diseases are produced in the heat and it will enhance the spread, many bugs and mosquitos like living in hot territory so they will all travel north” (explained www.globalNews.com). Global warming results in life on earth, many people are ignorant to the fact of how vital it is.
It’s bad because Global is something important that people don’t realize .We are able to prevent this in many ways such as recycling things; plastic bottles , cans ,glass and paper . We are also able to purchase many green products. Green products are eco-friendly products. They help the environment so that we waste less and save more.
Global warming is occurring all over; that’s where the word originated from “Global warming”. Scientist has said that “Global warming has existed forever but wasn’t really effected.” “Yes. Earth is already showing many signs of worldwide climate change Since June14, 2007 Global warming, or climate, is a subject that shows no sign of cooling down. The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several periods, according to a number of climate studies.”

Facebook uses us ?
To find out this information i was shocked ! It was crazy about all the information that was revealed in this article.I was very informative , our generation needs to learn about this stuff. i had no idea that the stuff they do with facebook was so intruging. But most of the stuff in this article i was already informed of .Im very careful with the information i put on any of the social websites im networking on. I know there are som crazy people ou here that will do exotic things to any one . When i grow i want to start my own bussiness hopefully, and with social website people check and search your whole backround to get anything bad on you. and im very sure that when i start my bussiness, that nothing will be in my way. But when i was reading this article i was reminded of the time i watch scoial networks and how the boy created the website at college with his friends. Facebook was once just for college student but it then became world wide and its now open to any people.as long as your a certaint age .Facebook has been around since about 2003, and is still popular to this day . global warming
Climate: Facts, dangers and what you can do
Global warming is a huge problem , in the united states of America.the gas fro the cars , hair product that spray from a can , like the starch for your clothes when you iron them. The people of America have no idea of how much they need to recycle and go green a piece of trash on the ground adds to the pollution of the world. Its crazy because , the bits of trash add up to a huge problem. Every summer its an out outrageous amount of heat exploited from the sun .This is because the o-zone layer is getting thin. the o- zone layer protect us from an extreme amount of heat beaming on us .we can all avert this sisuation . by not littering and maybe going more of the green way and recycling things . its now becoming a law or should i say a rule that all house holds along with trash day, the recycling truck will collect the recycle .The pollution is not the only way that effects our envorment. the gases and oils left behind from a truck are one of the main reasons why our world is full of nasty non-sense. more car pulling and taking buses can help out a lot.One full tank of gas is worth 20 ponds of carbon dixoide and that is much harm to our world. the o-zone layer is weak and we need to stop it from braking down.

I'm a criminal
This article" I am a criminal " was about a black african american women that points out that we are all criminals. Where one time in life we have all committed a crime, weither it was from Our young years or even more recent. Michelle Alexander is the author of this article and she asks her self"Who am I ?How do I Identify?"She says to people that she is a criminal because she's being truthful. she also explains on how you cant judge a person by their personality and their looks. Every body does things but you cant tell by the way they look. When we are bias towards certain people and their looks , we expect and assume things .As in this article she speaks of how , when we judge we expect the poor and the "ghetto " to steal and break laws but thats not always true .When we get caught by the law of course we'll think oh i'll get by , this wont be a problem . BUT that isn't always the sisuation we have to be considerate and think of others and actually abide by the laws and follow them.
In your everyday lives, we live on and continue in life. But do you really stop and think "wait did I just do that?" when we walk on a red light . Do we regret the fact that we did immature, childish things when we were18 and hanging out with friends at a party ?! i mean come on we break laws everyday wheather we pay attention to it or not !

editing the body
When celebrities have fashion shoots, they get dressed up get in fancy clothes and nice jewelry and POSE. With flashing cameras from every angle. They're use to it and they love it they enjoy it. They do it for a living. The celebrities don't see it from our point of view though their just living the life. When we look at the magazines, we see the skinny models and, the smooth faces with no blemishes, marks, and no blotches .We see the side that perfect that we need to look up to. And want to be like but its crazy, because what we see is not always what's true. We get see the perfected side nothings wrong. But when we look at these magazines some think why can’t I look like that or why cant I have that hair, or why can’t I be that young looking. But its not always what we think it is. These artist and celebrity’s fix's there self’s up with the computer. Now days we can use photo shop to fix and edit the most simple and silly things. I mean why not just love your self for who you are and let people see the real you. I know that it’s a picture and that celeb's have a picture to manna but, just do you and try to be real and upfront all the time. Because a lot of them just don't understand.

ipad
This iPod has been out for about three or four years I would say now. I've heard many new and different exciting things about them. Whenever I would use one I would just be so enamored with it. That someone even had the, time, creativity, and talent to built something like that it’s just so incredible. But where do these "iPod’s" come from? How are they produced, what factory do they come from? While in class this week, we read an article that was about the factories in which theses Ipads are created . They are created in china, the employees are not even paid as much as they should be they are used and taken advantage of everyday. They get paid less then minimum wage. That is just shameful and disrespectful. There are no factories in America because they know that they can’t cheat us. They just want to work the people for less money. But a couple months ago , this factory exploded . Many people were hurt and even two killed this was a very sad story when I read it . I felt bad for them . I man standing working all day spraying poisonous chemicals on I pad products everyday all day.

cracking teenages
Cracking teenagers was very a very decent article. It talked about a 35 year old women who, dressed as a younger teenager . she was speaking to different audiences , about how the internet is good place for teenagers to get away and do their own thing .Teenagers get away and into their own world either through technology or just doing what they want . This lady describes allthe pro's and con’s of online media. She and others have done research, on what teens do and how swiftly we react to certain things. She’s put herself in our footsteps and did much research .She compare her to teen life to our, she’s peaks of how when she was 16 years old she thought by the age of 21 she would be dead. Then she tell parts of her life story and how she raised by her mother, and at the age of 5 years old her father disappeared .She would sometimes lash out on her mother, and “the internet was my saving grace.” She said maybe saying that the internet was her only way out. She spent her teenage night talking to strangers over the internet. She has experienced where when an adult here of teens holding a conversation with a stranger that’s older, it’s assumed as perverted, but that’s not always the case she says. She’s experienced a rough life , being molested by her uncle and all but she seem to have made it through , the outcomes aren’t always bad.
