All 12th grade students have to create a senior project in order to graduate. Students did projects on real life situations that occur now. Such as drugs, abortions, overbearing parents, Stud’s, healthy eating and so much more. Last Friday the seniors had a health fair where all of the younger students grades 9th, 10th and 11th all went downstairs to the auditorium. While we were in the auditorium we got a chance to view several tables that gave out about the topics I mentioned earlier. Some students were shy about asking information and some weren’t .It was a fun experience for us I enjoyed it a lot. We got to ask questions, explore, and learn new things I found it very useful and exhilarating because teens today are ignorant to what’s going on in the real World. It was different tables and we all lined up to go inside and visit each table. There were oranges they gave out at the vegetable table. At the std table the gave out condoms although, some students were shy to apply their self, ask questions and even take one they participate .It turned out well over all. It was really nice. There was one table I found intriguing it was about how fathers and mothers need to step up and handle their business with their kids. It was by Akiel I believe it was nice I also liked the table on the fruits and vegtables that we have every Wednesday. It tells us how important it is to eat healthy.

Sonia Sotomayor
The recent article i read just hapen to be in my Empower 3000 assignments. It was about a recent lawyer Sonia Sotomayor is a Supreme Court Justice. She spoke to kids about what it is like to have type 1diabetes. I found this article very interesting. When Sonia was younger her and her family member discovered that she had type 1diabetes. She said it was rough growing up but it got easier as she got older . she grew up in new York city the south of the Bronx .When she found out about this the doctors said it okay and that its just an abnormal amount of sugar in her blood . diabetics have to check their blood everyday but when she was younger they had to sterilize their needles every morning because they didn't have the machines that self took the blood."In 2011, Sotomayor appeared at a meeting put on by a group working to find a cure for diabetes. Sotomayor spoke to a group of 150 children. They also had type 1 diabetes. The children sat around her while she told them about her experiences." she witnessed to theses kids to let them know that she was in there place before, and that everything is going to be alright. She tells them to keep dreaming and she let them know that everything will be the same and that nothing will change. and that they will have the same options as others. I hop the best for theses kids because i know i would want all the support and help if i were on their sidehttp://portal.achieve3000.com/article/?g=11293&c=1&sc=28&ssc=0&a=151633&asn=1
